Deploying and Installing System

Select an appropriate way to deploy the system based on your network scale and locations.

Tip: To monitor server status and related service metrics for system management and problem troubleshooting, you can install NetBrain Service Monitor Agent on each NetBrain server. See Monitoring Server and Service Metrics for more details.

Tip: To receive updates about the system built-in resources, you can install NetBrain Update Server as one of the system components and customize the auto-update schedule. See Customizing Auto Update Schedule for more details.

Two-Server Deployment

The two-server deployment requires one Windows server for applications and one Linux server for the database. Install the system components in the following order:

1.Install NetBrain Database Server on Linux.

2.Install the following components on the Windows server.

1)Install NetBrain Application Server on Windows.

2)Install Service Monitor Agent on Windows.

3)Install Update Server on Windows.

Distributed Deployment

The distributed deployment method is flexible for mid-range and large networks, requiring more machines to provide more scalability and resiliency. Install the system components in the following order:

1.Install MongoDB Server on Linux.

2.Install Index Server on Linux.

3.Install License Agent Server on Linux.

4.Install Cache Server on Windows.

5.Install Message Server on Windows.

6.Install Web/Web API Server on Windows.

7.Install Worker Server on Windows.

8.Install Task Engine on Windows.

9.Install Front Server Controller on Windows.

10. Install Front Server.

11. Install Update Server on Windows.

12. Install Service Monitor Agent.

High Availability

HA deployment is only applicable to an environment within one data center, aiming to prevent the single point of failure (SPOF) on applications, virtual or physical machines. Install the system components in the following order:

1.Install a MongoDB Replica Set on Linux.

2.Install Index Servers on Linux.

3.Install License Agent Servers on Linux.

4.Install Cache Servers on Windows.

5.Install Message Servers on Windows.

6.Install Web/Web API Servers on Windows.

7.Install Worker Servers on Windows.

8.Install Task Engines on Windows.

9.Install Front Server Controllers on Windows.

10.Install Front Servers.

11.Install Update Server on Windows.

12.Install Service Monitor Agent.

Note: To avoid unexpected clock synchronization issues, it is highly recommended to configure Network Timing Protocol (NTP) client on the machines where NetBrain servers will be installed. See Appendix: Configuring NTP Client on NetBrain Servers for more details.
