Data Unit is the fundamental and smallest unit in a data view, and displayed on device or interface labels.

Sources of Data Units

Data units come from the following data sources:

▪Built-in data, including GDR properties and built-in device data table (general data table and NCT table)

▪Parser variables (saved in the Parser Library)

Tip: You can customize the display setting for parser and API variables. See Configuring Variable Display Settings for more details.

The specific data units supported on both device and interface positions are as follows:

The supported data types of data units in a data view are listed as follows:

Table	A device data table, such as ARP table, or a table type parser variable
Hyperlink	A static URL, e.g. http://www.cisco.com/
Format note	A formatted note (.rft).
Attachment	A document except for the .exe format and its size cannot exceed 50MB.
Highlight Device/Interface	Background color highlighted on device icons, links, or data units.
Smart Note	The device or interface notes defined in a data view template or generated by a Qapp.
Color Scheme	The color block displayed under a data unit for notifications.
