Messages can be shared through system notifications or emails, or both.
System Notification
When the 
icon on the quick access toolbar changes to 
, it means that you have new messages to read regarding the Editing Rights and sharing of maps and dashboards. See Viewing Notifications for more details.
Email Notification
To subscribe to email notifications, you need to make configurations first in the Email Server Settings.
