Function portal is a web portal of the NetBrain IE system, carrying some features of the NetBrain IE system, including Map and Data View. The Function Portal enables external users with no IE system account to access some system functions to collaborate with others. External users can log in to the function portals with portal user accounts or access codes, which do not occupy seat licenses.

Function Portal Use Cases

You can leverage the features of the predefined function portals to visualize the networks and carry out collaborative troubleshooting. The following cases are several typical function portal use cases.

• With Function Portal, the power user can publish selected data (maps/paths/One-IP table/limited data views on map) to different teams.
• The user may have limited seat licenses. The power user can divide the domain data into smaller function portals and enable access codes for logging in to Portals so that external users can access the corporation’s data without seat licenses.
• The map is a key function for documenting the network technologies. The power user can create a set of function portals with the map features for the key technologies, application flows, sites or secure domains to aggregate Networks.
