Discover VMware vCenter Networks

Prerequisites: A user account with the minimum read-only role is required to enable NetBrain to discover a vCenter network.

Information Note: The following screenshot is based on vCenter version 6.7 and is subject to change in higher versions.
Information Note: Check the Propagate to children option when you create the Read-only account.

The main flow of discovering VMware vCenter networks is as follows:

  1. Set Up API Server in NetBrain — define the required parameters to access third-party systems via APIs.
  2. Discover vCenter Data in NetBrain — discover the network data model in a NetBrain domain.
  3. Auto-Update vCenter Data in NetBrain through Benchmark — execute a benchmark task to retrieve all data and build all components, including visual spaces and data views.
