Save a Map Layout as a Sample
Use this feature to save the current layout of a map as a sample. You can save it based on device positions or layout tags. This makes it easy to reuse the layout for similar maps in the future.
Follow the steps below to save a map layput as a sample:
- Right-click ablank area of the map, and select Save as Sample Layout.
- In the dialog box, enter a name for the sample and choose a storage location in the Map Layout Manager.
- (Optional) To save the layout based on layout tags instead of device positions:
- Select Create sample layout style via device tag.
- Choose the layout tags you want to use.
Note: By default, the layout is saved using device hostname positions.
- Select Create sample layout style via device tag.
- Click OK.
The sample map is saved in the Map Layout Manager and can be used as a sample layout in the future. For more information, see Layout by Sample.
To view the sample map, Click the start menuand then select Map Layout Manager.
Tip: To apply the sample layout on a map, see Apply a Layout Style on the Map for details. Note: You can apply sample layouts saved with tag positions only to site maps.
