The system supports as many device types as you can see in the market and has been working on the support to streamline the device types ever since. For the latest multi-vendor support, see Multi-Vendor Support List for more details.
The system builds a multi-vendor support framework, which makes it easier to support new device types and vendor models by associating corresponding drivers.
The system has two methods to identify the Device Type and Device Driver of a device:
▪When discovering a live network, the system uses SNMP strings to retrieve sysObjectID, and then identify device type and driver from the Vendor Model list.
▪When importing devices' configuration files, the system parses the configuration file to identify device types and drivers.
If neither way works, you can manually maintain Network Definition to associate device types and drivers.
