Unknown IP refers to the IP addresses of the devices that are discovered from seed routers but cannot be accessed by using Telnet/SSH and SNMP.

The Unknown IP has the following types depending on the possible causes.
▪Unknown IPs with Username/Password Mismatch — no matched Telnet/SSH login credentials in the Network Settings.
▪Unknown IPs with Incorrect Privilege Password — the devices can be accessed by Telnet/SSH but the privilege passwords configured in the Network Settings are mismatched.
▪Others — the devices cannot be accessed due to other reasons.
Tip: If you deploy MPLS in your network without PE router configured, the IP address of the connected PE router interface may be discovered through the CE router and added into the unknown IP list. In this situation, you can manually add this IP address as an MPLS cloud. See MPLS Cloud for more details.
Tip: The Collect from Device column in the unknown IP list refers to the devices the unknown IP addresses are discovered from. And the devices are also called edge device.
