Shared Device Settings store the data used to access a device. By default, the data are collected from the first successful discovery of the device. In further maintenance, the data can be changed via tuning live access or rediscovery unless you lock it. The data mainly contains the following types:

Management IP address — the IP address via which Front Server access the device via CLI and SNMP.

Front Server — the Front Server responsible for accessing the device with CLI and SNMP, or accessing an external API server to retrieve data from the device.

Tip: The selected Front Server can be automatically synchronized with the device allocation changes in Shared Network Settings or API Server Manager.

Access method — the method to retrieve device data, CLI, SNMP, or API.

Access credentials — the credentials used to access the device via CLI and SNMP, as well as Jumbox Server.

External API Servers — the external API servers from which the Front Server retrieves data for the device, such as Cisco ACI and VMware vCenter.

Tip: The API plugin servers can be automatically synchronized from the device allocation changes in API Server Manager.

Prompt Settings — the interactive CLI prompts for device login, which can be modified. If the prompts don't meet those of your device, configure the advanced CLI prompts. See Configuring Interactive CLI Prompts for more details.
