1.Right-click the device on a map page and select Shared Device Settings from the drop-down menu.
2.To change Management IP or Front Server, select one from the corresponding list and then click Ping. The system will use the Front Server to ping the corresponding interface and automatically update the Live Status field with the ping result.
3.Configure the device settings based on your needs.
Specify the credentials used to access the device via Telnet or SSH on the CLI Tab. 1)Select the method to access the device from the Access Mode list and specify the port number. Three access modes are supported: Telnet, SSH, and SSH Public Key. 2)Select the matched username/password pair from the Available Username lists for user mode login and privileged mode login. The correct username/password pairs must be predefined in Shared Network Settings. 3)Select a Server Jumpbox if the device cannot be accessed directly via Front Server. |

Specify the SNMP credentials used to access the device via SNMP on the SNMP tab. The SNMP credentials secure access to SNMP‑enabled managed devices. The SNMPv1 and SNMPv2c credentials serve as a type of password that is authenticated by confirming a match between a clear text SNMP Community String provided by an SNMP request and the SNMP Community String stored as a MIB object on an SNMP‑enabled, managed device. SNMPv3 provides a more secure interaction. 1)Specify the SNMP version and port number. 2)Select the SNMP read-only community string from the RO list and enter the SNMP read and write community string in the RW field. The SNMP strings are configured on the SNMP String tab of Shared Network Settings. 3)Click Advanced to enter the OIDs of the CPU and memory in the Retrieve CPU and Retrieve Memory fields respectively to retrieve the CPU and memory usage of the device synchronously. Click OK. |

Specify the external API server from which Front Server retrieves data for this device. In the External API Server column, select the target external API server. Note: The external API servers must be predefined in the API Server Manager. See Adding an API Server for more details. Note: The Cisco ACI or VMware ESXi source types is only visible for the devices in Cisco ACI or VMware ESXi networks, and their external API servers cannot be manually specified. |
4.Click Tune to check the reachability of live devices by using the above settings. If not reachable, the system will overwrite the settings by polling the credentials configured in the Shared Network Settings. You can view the process log and tuning results in the following dialog.
5.Apply the settings to a device group if necessary.
1)Select the Apply above Settings to device group check box and then specify the target device group.
2)Select the check box behind the target setting items.
6.Click Submit to save the settings.
