NetBrain is an adaptive network automation platform, integrating with hardware, software, virtualization and SDN vendors to provide end-to-end network visibility.

Phase 1: Live Network Discovery and Data Modeling

NetBrain discovers both what you have (that is, network topology) and how they are put together (that is, network design) by leveraging a patented neighbor-walking discovery engine combined with advanced network data modeling.

During the live network discovery, the system logs into every device it discovers to issue and analyze CLI commands. It retrieves data primarily through Telnet/SSH, SNMP, and APIs, and builds a database to model your live network.

To capture network changes and keep your network data model up-to-date, the system provides recurring Benchmark tasks.

Phase 2: Dynamic Mapping

Every network task starts with a data-driven dynamic map. You can map any part of your network to get instant visibility. A common method is to search the network and map the search results.

Powered by deep network discovery and API integration, a dynamic map can be enriched and served as the single pane of glass for IT management, with data accessible from third-party IT solutions. You can contextualize and correlate data across disparate NMS tools, and visualize as unique layers on a map.

Phase 3: Adaptive and Continuous Automation

The system supports customization as an open platform. Through the visual programming environment, you can customize executable Runbooks or scheduled Qapps/Gapps to automate any network analysis or diagnosis on top of a map. Furthermore, you can use RESTful APIs to integrate the system into any NMS tools or IT workflows in your organization.
