Functions Supported by CM/AAM License
To extend the intent functions to the CM and AAM modules, the system allows you to execute NIs within the features of these modules even if you do not have the PA license:
- Unconstrained to Execute NI in Change Management Runbook with CM License
- Execute Path Intent While Verify Path with AAM License
Unconstrained to Execute NI in Change Management Runbook with CM License
Change Management Module (CM) license provides a comprehensive network change management solution to deal with network changes. It also allows you to unlimitedly execute NI nodes in Change Management Runbook even if the PA license is not purchased. In other words, if you have the CM license but no the PA license, NI executions in a CM Runbook are not counted toward the quota, and the number of times to run NI nodes in a CM Runbook does not have an upper limit. The NI executions in a common runbook are still counted.
Execute Path Intent While Verify Path with AAM License
With an AAM license, you can automatically execute Path Intents in the AAM module, accessed via Benchmark task > Advanced Operations after Benchmark > Application Verification. With this function enabled, Path intent execution and path verification can be executed concurrently (see Automatically Execute Path Intents During Path Calculation and Path Application Verification for more information). If you have the AAM license but no PA license, the path intent executions will not be counted as the quota and you can execute path NIs unlimited times with the AAM license.
In addition, as shown in the following diagram, interactive executions of path NI in the Path pane will not be counted, either.
