Visualize Physical Network by Routing Protocol

Learn how protocol types are defined for routing protocols in the Network Tree.

  • BGP Protocol: Identified as Protocol Name + AS Number (e.g., BGP 65001).

  • Other Protocols: Identified as Protocol Name + Process Number (e.g., OSPF 1).

Follow the steps below to view the details and the context maps of a node:

  1. NetBrain desktop, open Network.
  2. In the Network pane, select Physical Network in the Category field.
  3. In the View field, select Routing Protocol.
  4. Expand the BGP node to view more information.
Information Tip: The number next to each node indicates the number of its child nodes.
  1. In the Context Maps tab, click Open Map to view the context map.
Information Tip: The context maps display the L3 Topology or L2 Topology.
  1. Click the Device Details pane to view the node’s detailed properties, interface, and IP interfaces.
