Replicate Intent
You can create an intent instance based on the selected intent by clicking the Replicate button at the bottom of the Auto Replicate Intent pane, then run the intent and view the results.
Replicate Intent
Replicate Intent: Click Replicate to create new intent via intent replication based on your intent selections.
The system supports defining the replication settings for creating intent.
- Click the Auto option for Data Source next to the Replicate button (Auto is the default setting).

- In the pop-up Replication Settings dialog, select an intent replication mode. Three Options are provided:
- Auto: The system will first search for pre-decoded data for intent replication. If pre-decoded data is not found, the system will retrieve live data and use the retrieved data for intent replication.
- Use Active Cache: This option can be selected only after you select Auto as the source for intent replication. All live retrieved data is added/updated into a global Active Cache for future live data requests. With this function enable, live data retrieval from devices occurs only when cache data is unavailable or outdated. This function aims to safeguard network devices against excessive Telnet/SSH requests.
- Current Baseline: The current baseline data will be directly used as data source for on-demand intent replication (example use scenario: NetBrain Engineer imports customer’s device data into Current Baseline, which will be used for debugging, because the imported devices do not have live access ability in NetBrain).
- ADT Dataset: ADT dataset is cached CLI/Configure data organized by ADT. Intent replication via auto intent could source from the historical ADT dataset data.
- Click OK to complete the settings and close this dialog.
- Click the Replicate button to replication intent.
After intent is created, you can view the log from Auto Intent if intent is not created or the created intent is not as expected. Click the
icon to view the execution summary log.
You can customize what type of log is generated. The system supports Brief Log Mode and Debug Log Mode, which can be selected in Replication Settings > Advanced Settings.
- Brief Log Mode (default): If this mode is selected, only major execution process logs are generated, and log for intent replication are not generated. In this mode, the amount of created logs is reduced.
- Debug Mode: All debug logs (including intent replication logs) are generated. In this mode, all detailed logs are shown for butter troubleshooting.
