Discover NSX-T Global Manager
If your network includes a Global Manager and uses global devices, such as a global gateway or a global segment, you need to add and discover the Global Manager. Otherwise, adding a Global Manager is optional, as all the devices can be discovered through the Local Managers.
Add NSX-T Global Manager into API Server Manager
You can use the NSX-T Global Manager GUI URL as the endpoint. However, if you use an IP address in the endpoint URL, use the virtual IP of the NSX Manager, as shown in the following image.
-
In the Domain Management page, click the start menu
and select API Server Manager
- In the API Server Manager tab, click Add API Server.
- In the Server Name field, enter a unique name
- From the API Source Type dropdown, select VMware NSX-T.
- In the Endpoint URL field, enter the URL of the NSX Manager.
- From the Manager Type dropdown, select Global Manager.
- Enter the Username and Password to access the NSX Manager.
- In the Associated Location Managers field, input the IP addresses of the associated Global Managers.
Note: For a successful discovery of NSX-T Global Manager, please make sure to input the correct IP addresses of those Local Managers and the Local Manager Server Setting for those IP addresses in previous step can be tested successfully. Note: You can input more than one IP address, like 1.1.1.1;1.1.1.2. - Select a Front Server or Front Server Group from the dropdown menu.
Note: Make sure that the port 7086 of your NetBrain Front Server is not occupied by other applications, because this port is used by the service components of a Front Server to communicate with each other.
- Click Test ,and make sure it is tested successfully.
Note: Global Manager does not count towards the license, but you need to set up the Local Manager API Server Setting first.
