Compare Data between Two Devices

You can compare data between two devices directly from the map interface by following these steps:

  1. Launch the Comparison Tool
    • On the target map page, right-click on a blank area and select Compare.
    • In the Compare pane, click the  icon and choose Compare Two Devices.
  2. Configure Comparison Parameters
    • In the Dataset fields, specify the two data sources to retrieve the data for comparison.
    • In the Device field, select the two target devices you want to compare.
      Information

      Tip: If you see the icon, it indicates that there is no corresponding data available from the selected data source.

  3. Select Data Types to Compare: Choose one or more data types to include in the comparison (e.g., configuration files, data tables, NCTs, CLI commands).
      Information Tip: You can also compare sub-items under each data type.

      Tip: To configure the maximum size for each data type that can be compared, click Comparison Settings. If the size of a file exceeds the threshold, it will be excluded from comparison.

  4. Run the Comparison: See Comparison Results for more guidance on interpreting results.
    • Click Compare to begin the comparison process.
    • Once complete, select a changed data type from the results to view detailed differences.
  5. Export Comparison Results: The displayed comparison results can be exported to HTML files.
    • To export the result of a single data type, click Export at the bottom of the results section.
    • To export the entire comparison, click the  icon in the top-right corner and choose Export Result.

      Tip:  You can also click a hyperlink in the Results area to view a summary of the comparison results.
