Manage Multi-Vendor Support

The system supports the mainstream vendor and device type. For the latest multi-vendor support, see Multi-Vendor Support List for more details. If you have the vendor and device type not supported yet, the NetBrain team will work with you to get them supported on demand.

The system builds a multi-vendor support framework, which makes it easier to support new device types and vendor models by associating corresponding drivers.

The system has two methods to identify the Device Type and Device Driver of a device:

• When discovering a live network, the system uses SNMP strings to retrieve sysObjectID identifying device type and driver from the Vendor Model list.
• When importing devices' configuration files, the system parses the configuration file to identify device types and drivers.

If neither way works, you can manually maintain Network Definition to associate device types and drivers.
