Build Base Table via Device Group

When to build ADT by selecting Device Group?

Device groups have been created to document the network infrastructure and critical design. You can build an ADT from these device groups, then the system can find related device groups data for troubleshooting network problems.

Build Base Table Data via Device Group

Device group properties can be used as the input data for filling the table rows.

To build the base table with device group properties, follow the steps below:

Prerequisites: Create some device groups.

  1. Go to Automation Data Table Manager, then create a new table and name it (for example, US Site Device Group).

  2. Go to Automation Data Table Builder> Define Base Table of the created ADT.
  3. Under the Define Base Table tab, define the following settings:

    1. Select Method to Build Base Table: Select Other ObjectDevice Group method.
    2. Description: Input descriptions for the base table to describe its use and function, for example Use US site device group.
    3. Device Group: in the Device Group field, click Select, then select device groups for building the base table. You can select device group or a device group folder to use the device data for building base table. 
  1. Mapping Available Fields to Column Group: Drag and drop the available fields to the column group definition area to create ADT columns automatically.

The built-in fields are created from device group properties.
  1. Click Save to save all the settings. But table data will not be built.
  2. Click Save and Build. The Build Table dialog appears, define the settings as per your preferences. The system will save the settings and build the table data.
