Use ADT Automation Asset Via Auto Intent

As ADT and ADT assets (intents/maps/paths) can also be listed in Auto Intent, Auto Intent can function to deliver intents, path and map from ADT. For ADT installed in Auto Intent, its path, intent, path map associated with the map devices are filtered and listed under the ADT folder. End users can select intents for diagnosis or directly use the path or map to carry out troubleshooting.

When to use ADT Assets in Auto Intent?

To fully understand and troubleshoot an issue, it is normally required to analyze the related maps and paths besides intents. In such events, power users can employ the feature – enabling ADT assets (Intent/Map/Path) to be used in Auto Intent. This function will enable finding automation assets for map devices, e.g., device-related failover links and the map, device-related path, and the path intents. Then the automations assets can be used in Auto Intent by end users.

Under the ADT node, the intents related to the ADT, the path in ADT and the map related to the ADT are displayed. It is noted that when your select to view an ADT intent, the Input Macro Variable area will not be displayed, because ADT intent does not have configurable macro variables.

With the available ADT assets in Auto Intent, complete the following tasks:

• Use Intents from ADT to Create an Intent for Troubleshooting
• View a Map and Use the Map for Troubleshooting
• View a Path and Use the Path for Troubleshooting

Note: Before performing these operations in this chapter, the ADT Assets must be enabled first. For more information see Enable ADT Assets for Auto Intent.

Use Intents from ADT to Create an Intent for Troubleshooting.

To use an ADT intent, follow the major steps below:

1. Select the ADT intent from the Auto Replicate Intent Pane.
2. Click the Replicate button to run the ADT intent.  
   

   Note: The intent under the ADT node is intent instance, not intent template. Therefore, clicking the Replicate button will actually run the intent.

3. View the intent diagnosis to analyze and resolve network problem.

View a Map and Use the Map for Troubleshooting.

To use Map of ADT in Auto Intent, follow the major steps below:

1. Click a map of ADT from the Auto Replicate Intent pane to open the map.
2. Use the map for troubleshooting.

View a Path and Use the Path for Troubleshooting.

To use path of ADT in Auto Intent, follow the major steps below: 

1. Click a path of ADT from the Auto Replicate Intent pane to open the path.
2. Use the path for troubleshooting application path issues.
