Customize Auto Link Options

You can customize auto link options in the Map Page Settings dialog box and save the auto link settings as defaults. The default settings apply to all the new maps and new map pages. Completing the following steps to set the auto link options.

  1. On a map page, click Map > Map Page Settings on the Map Toolbar.
  2. In the Map Page Settings pane, rotate the mouse wheel button backward to the Interactive & Backend Auto Link Settings area to set the following auto link options:
    1. Select the topology types that will be automatically linked on your Map: select one or more topology types for links under Default Auto Link Style by checking the checkbox (es).
    2. Exclude management interface: if the Exclude Management Interface checkbox is checked, any two devices will not be linked via management interfaces.
    3. Set how many links between two devices are to be drawn on the Map: Select one of the options under Extend Links.
      • A Random Link: One link is selected randomly to be drawn on the Map during auto-linking.
      • All Found Links: All the links between two devices are drawn on the Map during auto-linking.
    4. Set whether to automatically draw all the links on the Map after the Map is updated: if Always auto link all devices is enabled, Auto Link function will be performed on all the devices on the Map once the Map is updated. 
  1. Click Set as Default. These changes will be applied to all your new maps and new pages as default settings.

Apply the Default Settings to Existing Maps

After the auto link settings are completed, you do not have to set the auto link options for every existing single map and every existing single map page. You can apply the settings to selected existing maps/map pages in batch.

Apply the map page settings to existing maps/map pages by following the steps:

  1. Click Apply to Other Maps, and then select a type of maps from the drop-down menu by clicking.

The corresponding dialog box will pop up after clicking:

  • Common Map: All the common maps and map pages in your domain are listed in the dialog box.
    Information Note: In the dialog box for common maps, you can select map pages to apply the auto link settings.
  • Device Group Map: Only device group maps are listed in the dialog box.

  • Site Map: only site maps are listed in the dialog box.

  1. Select target maps from the pop-up dialog box by checking the boxes of the target maps.
  2. Click Apply to apply the auto link settings to the selected maps.
