Configure Private Network Settings

Network engineers usually have their private access credentials to make changes on specified devices. Private Network Settings can be used to record and manage these private access credentials in the system. These private access credentials in the system are used when Managing Network Changes.

To configure private network settings, do the following:

InformationNote: If the Use shared credential and shared privilege credentials option is selected for Network Change Credential Management, the Private Network Settings will not be accessible.

  1. Log in to the Domain Management page. 
  2. From the Taskbar, search and find Tune Private CLI Settings .
  3. In the Tune Private CLI Settings tab, click Private Network Settings and enter the necessary private credentials under the related tabs. These credentials will be only available to the user who configure them.
  1. Tune the access credentials to make sure they can work. See Tuning Private CLI Settings for more details.

Configuring Telnet/SSH Login Credentials

  1. Select the Telnet/SSH Login tab.
  2. Click Add to open the Telnet/SSH Login dialog box.
  3. Select the authentication method, enter or select the non-privilege login credentials and click OK.
    InformationTip: For SSH login method, if there is no available private key, you can select New in the Private Key field to add one. See Configuring Private Key for more details.

Repeat step 2) and step 3) to add more entries if required.

Configuring Private Key

The following SSH private key types are supported in the system to access your network devices:

  • SSHv1 RSA key
  • SSHv2 RSA key
  • SSHv2 DSA key
  1. Click the Private Key tab.
  2. Click Add to open the Private Key Setting dialog box.
  3. Enter the alias and click Browse to import your SSH private key file.
  4. Enter the passphrase and confirm if your private key is encrypted.
  5. Click OK.

Repeat step 2) and step 5) to add more entries if required.

Configuring Privilege Login Credentials

The credentials for privileged mode login on live devices. With these credentials, the system can issue CLI commands on devices and change their configurations.

  1. Click the Privilege Login tab.
    Information Note: The Privilege Login tab is available only if the private privilege credentials option is selected for Network Change Management.
  2. Click Add to open the Privilege Login dialog box.
  3. Enter the access credentials and click OK.

Repeat step 2) and step 3) to add more entries if required.
