Dashboard Widget and Template

Both widgets and dashboard templates are maintained and managed in the Dashboard Widget and Template Manager.

Widget

Widget is the fundamental element of a dashboard. It has the following three categories by default:

Built-in Widgets — contains the pre-installed widgets. This category is accessible to all users but can only be modified and deleted by system administrators.

Shared Widgets in Tenant — contains widgets that are accessible to all users in this tenant.

My Widgets — contains widgets that are only accessible to yourself and can be manually saved as shared widgets. You can find your private widgets in all domains that you can access under one tenant.

Note: Some generic widgets are not saved in the Dashboard Widget and Template Manager. See Generic Widgets for more details.

Widget can also be categorized based on whether Qapp is referenced.

Static Widget — gets the results directly from the system database. For example, Configlet by Design Filter, Configlet by Config Parser, and so on.

Monitor Widgetbinds with a Qapp file and gets the real-time results. For example, Single Device Table, Multi-Device Data Table, and so on.

Note: The Run button is only available in a dashboard when it contains at least one monitor widget.

Dashboard Template

Dashboard Template is a non-initialized dashboard, containing a group of widgets. It has the following categories by default:

Built-in Templates — contains the pre-installed dashboard templates. The system offers a dozen built-in dashboard templates to help you create a dashboard for different working scenarios, such as Overall Health Monitor, and Device Statistic Observer. This category is accessible to all users but can only be modified by the system administrators.

Shared Templates in Tenant — contains dashboard templates that are accessible to all users in this tenant.

My Templates — contains dashboard templates that are only accessible to yourself and can be manually set as shared templates. You can find your private templates in all domains that you can access under one tenant.
