Appendix: Report Object and Lookup Relationship
Each report must select one Primary Report Object and its Related Report Objects.
- Primary Object: Primary Object defines the main subject of the report. Each report must have and can only have one Primary Object.
- Related Object: Related Objects can supplement the main subject's information. The Related Objects are added via a lookup relationship. The report objects in the lower level must have a lookup relationship with the report object in the previous level.
A thorough comprehension of the lookup relationship between report objects can help you effectively plan the information to be included in the report.
Example: As shown in the picture below, B: Network Intent Result can be added as a Related Object to the Primary Object A: Network Intent because B: Network Intent Result lookup to A: Network Intent using Report Field Intent Name. Similarly, to add C: Network Intent Device Result as a Related Object to B: Network Intent Result, C: Network Intent Device Result must lookup to B: Network Intent Result.

Note: The lookup relationship is one way, so the report object cannot be added the other way around; that is to say, you cannot use B: Network Intent Result as Primary Object and then add A: Network Intent as Related Object. |
