PA License and Other Features
PA License Rules & Dashboard
The Universal Dashboard, Intent Dashboard, and Observability Dashboard are designed solely to display intent execution results; users cannot run intents within these dashboards. As a result, the PA License does not affect the functionality of these types of dashboards.
Privilege of PA License over Schedule Intent
The purpose of designing the ‘Schedule Intent’ function is for troubleshooting only. Although customers can run intents via ‘Schedule Intent’ freely without PA license, it has the following limitations:
- Each task can only schedule run one intent.
- A task can't schedule run intent from ADT.
- There is limitation to the max frequency of schedule intent, i.e., two weeks for schedule intent.
For network assessments, customers without PA license will need to use the Scheduled Intent function to define numerous intents for each task, which can be extremely time-consuming. Using 'Scheduled Intent' as a workaround for continuous assessment is almost impractical. With PA license, users can schedule to run intents in batch with the 'ADT - Run Intents via Timer (PAF)' function instead of using 'Schedule Intent' function. Therefore, PA license is essential to use the full capabilities of intent-based automation.
