Supported Context Maps of Cisco ACI Nodes

Supported Context Maps under Networking Centric/Fabric POD View

Node Context Map
APIC DomainThe context map of the Physical Network is supported, which displays the physical connection for APIC/Spine/Leaf within APIC Domain.
PODThe context map of Physical Network is supported, which displays the physical connection for APIC/Spine/Leaf within POD.
APIC/Spine/LeafThe context map of the Physical Network is supported, which displays the physical connection for the POD to which the selected APIC/Spine/Leaf belongs.
IPN DeviceThe context map of the Physical Network is supported, which displays the physical connection for the APIC Domain to which the selected IPN Device belongs.

Supported Context Maps under Networking Centric/Tenant View

Node Context Maps
APIC DomainThe context map of the Physical Network is supported, which displays the physical connection for APIC/Spine/Leaf within APIC Domain.
TenantThe context map of the Underlay Map is supported, which displays the physical connection between Spine/Leaf that the Tenant occupied and the L3Out device (if available).
VRF

Two context maps are supported for this node:

  • Overlay Map displays the logic object connections within the VRF, including VRF, L3Out Device (if available), Subnet/BD, and EPG.
  • Underlay Map displays the physical connection between Spine/Leaf that the VRF occupied and the L3Out Device (if available).
EPG

Two context maps are supported for this node:

  • Overlay Map displays the connections for the selected EPG to related Subnet/BD, VRF, and L3Out Device (if available).
  • Underlay Map displays the physical connection for Spine/Leaf that the EPG occupied, Endpoint, L3Out Device, and Border Leaf (if both available). If an Endpoint is connected to a Leaf Switch via vSwitch, the vSwitch will also be displayed in the Underlay Map.
Endpoint

Two context maps are supported for this node:

  • Overlay Map displays the connections for the EPG to which the selected Endpoint belongs and related Subnet/BD, VRF, and L3Out Device (if available).
  • Underlay Map displays the physical connection for Spine/Leaf that the EPG occupied, Selected Endpoint Only, L3Out Device, and Border Leaf (if both available). If an Endpoint is connected to a Leaf Switch via vSwitch, the vSwitch will also be displayed in the Underlay Map.

Supported Context Maps under Application Centric View

Node Context Maps
APIC DomainThe context map of the Physical Network is supported, which displays the physical connection for APIC/Spine/Leaf within APIC Domain.
TenantThe context map of the Underlay Map is supported, which displays the physical connection between Spine/Leaf that the Tenant occupied and the L3Out Device (if available).
ANP

Two context maps are supported for this node:

  • Overlay Map displays the connections between EPG and Contract within the ANP.
  • Underlay Map displays the physical connection between Spine/Leaf that the ANP occupied and the L3Out/L2 Out Device (if available).
EPG

Two context maps are supported for this node:

  • Overlay Map displays the connections between the selected EPG and its neighbor EPG connected with Contract.
  • Underlay Map displays the physical connection for Spine/Leaf that the EPG occupied, Endpoint, L3Out Device, and Border Leaf (if both available). If an Endpoint is connected to Leaf Switch via vSwitch, the vSwitch will also be displayed in the Underlay Map.
Endpoint

Two context maps are supported for this node:

  • Overlay Map displays the connections for the EPG to which the selected Endpoint belongs and its neighbor EPG connected with Contract.
  • Underlay Map displays the physical connection for Spine/Leaf that the EPG occupied, Selected Endpoint Only, L3Out Device, and Border Leaf (if both available). If an Endpoint is connected to Leaf Switch via vSwitch, the vSwitch will also be displayed in the Underlay Map.
L3 Out and Device

Two context maps are supported for this node:

  • Overlay Map inherits the ANP’s Overlay Map to which the L3Out device belongs.
  • Underlay Map inherits the ANP’s Underlay Map to which the L3Out device belongs.
L2 Out and Device

Two context maps are supported for this node:

  • Overlay Map inherits the ANP’s Overlay Map that the L2Out device belongs to.
  • Underlay Map inherits the ANP’s Underlay Map to which the L2Out device belongs.
