Do-Not-Scan List

Before discovering a network, you can create a Do-Not-Scan list with specific IP addresses or subnets, Device types, and Hostname that you do not want to discover in your network. Consequently, the related devices are ignored during the discovery process.

The Do-Not-Scan interface in the Domain Management Page consists of three tabs:

  • IP or Subnet - To exclude by IP addresses or subnet ranges.
  • Device Type - To exclude by device types.
  • Hostname - To exclude by hostname patterns.

Each tab allows you to define exclusion rules to prevent specific devices from being discovered.

Information Note:
  • IP addresses, subnets, and device types can be excluded from discovery via Telnet, SSH, SNMP, or API.
  • Hostnames can be excluded from discovery via Telnet, SSH, or SNMP (API is not supported for hostname-based discovery).

Information Tip: The IPv6 subnets are supported when you define a Do-not-scan list based on subsets.
