Use ADT Dataset for Intent Replication

With regard to intent replication, ADT dataset can serve as the data source and is intuitively displayed to be selected. Moreover, ADT can include commands from devices of multi-vendors in one column.

The steps of performing intent replication with the ADT dataset:

  1. Create an ADT and add a column group with the ADT Dataset method.
  2. Install and Decode Intent: Select the dataset in step 1 as the data source for decoding the intent (this step is required for cloning intent in ADT).
  3. Use the installed and decoded NIT to create cloned intent in ADT.
  4. Run ADT intents via the dataset in step 1.

The following table describes the features supporting using the dataset as the data source for intent replication.

Table 1 - Dataset as the Data Source for Intent Replication
No.Applied FeatureDescriptionUI View
1Auto Intent
  • Use the ADT dataset for intent replication via Auto Intent.
  • Use the ADT dataset for intent replication via Auto Intent when it is called from Path Browser.

2Path Intent
  • Use the ADT dataset for path intent replication in Path Browser.

  • Users can define replication log settings for path intent replication.

3ADT - Intent Template
  • When the intent template is used as the data source for creating a column group, the dataset can be selected in the replication settings.

4ADT – Intent Replication Wizard
  • ADT dataset, config files from the current baseline and current baseline can be used for intent replication When the intent is set for device-based replication or path-based replication in Intent Replication Wizard.

5ADT - Intent Replication for Path
  • When Intent Replication for Path is the method for building a column group, the ADT dataset can be used in Replication Settings.

6NIC - Create Member Intents
  • Use the ADT dataset for generating member intents via NIC.
7TAF – NIT-based Triggered Diagnosis
  • ADT dataset can be used for intent replication in NIT-based triggered diagnosis.

8Follow-up IntentWhen home intent is set to the Current Baseline/ADT Dataset, the intent replication settings for follow-up intents in NIT are the same as the Home Intent. Otherwise, the intent replication mode for follow-up intents is Auto (default).
