Intent Baseline Data Decoding Service

After NIT is defined and installed in the Intent Based Automation Center, NIT can be used to generate more intents, which involves two procedures:

  • Use the live network data in NIT to qualify the devices.
  • Match the qualified devices with seed devices. For example, if the seed NI has two seed devices, a Cisco IOS device and a Juniper device, the decoding service will determine whether a qualified device should use the commands of the Cisco IOS device or the Juniper device. If no seed device is matched, the device is not qualified.

You can define the frequency of updating baseline data of NIT via intent timer and apply the baseline data for cloning intents later. During intent decoding, the matchings between the input devices and the seed device in NIT are established. This chapter describes the baseline decoding service and intent decoding service in detail.
