Get Editing Rights

After the editor of a map or network dashboard releases the editing rights, the map or network dashboard stays in an unclaimed state. And the first user who opens the map or network dashboard will become the editor and get the editing rights until the map or network dashboard is closed by the user.

When the editor of a map or network dashboard releases editing rights, the file enters an unclaimed state. The first user to open the map or network dashboard automatically becomes the editor and retains editing rights until they close it.

Get Editing Rights for a Map

Information Note: If you want to get the editing rights of a site map, you need to have the Site Management privilege.
  1. On the view-only map, click the View Only label next to the map name.
Information Tip: You can also select Map > Editing Rights from the map toolbar.

  1. In the message box that appears, select Get Editing Rights.

Get Editing Rights for the Network Dashboard

  1. On the view-only network dashboard, select the View Only label next to the network dashboard name.
Information Tip: You can also click the  icon from the network dashboard toolbar, and then select Editing Rights from the drop-down menu.
  1. In the message box that appears, select Get Editing Rights.
