Discover VMware vCenter Networks

Prerequisites: A user account with the minimum read-only role is required to enable NetworkBrain to discover a vCenter network.

Information Note: The following screenshot is based on vCenter version 6.7 and is subject to change in higher versions.
Information Note: Check the Propagate to children option when you create the Read-only account.

The main flow of discovering VMware vCenter networks are as follows:

  1. Set Up API Server in NetworkBrain — define the required parameters to access 3rd-party systems via APIs.
  2. Discover vCenter Data in NetworkBrain — discover the network data model in a NetworkBrain domain.
  3. Auto-Update vCenter Data in NetworkBrain through Benchmark — execute a benchmark task to retrieve all data and build all components, including visual spaces and data views.
