Shared Device Settings store the information used to access a device. By default, the information is collected from the first successful discovery for the device.  

Note: In further maintenance, the information can be changed via tuning live access or rediscovery unless you lock it.

 
The following table introduces the fields in Shared Device Settings:

Field

Description

Management IP

The IP address of the device that will be accessed by Front Server. The first ping-able interface IP address during the first-time discovery is set as the management IP address by default.

Front Server/Front Server Group

The Front Server or Front Server Group responsible for accessing the device or external API server to retrieve data.

Tip: The selected Front Server is synchronized with the device allocation changes in Shared Network Settings or API Server Manager.

Access Method

The method to retrieve device data, including CLI, SNMP, and API.

Access Credentials

The credentials used to access the device.

Prompt Settings

The interactive CLI prompts for device login. See Configuring Interactive CLI Prompts for more details.
