Example: Suppose that you already have a CLI parser to retrieve the variable $CPU for Cisco devices, and you want to use the variable $CPU retrieved via SNMP as a new source. Add new variable mappings between CLI parser and SNMP parser as follows:
1.Check that SNMP is enabled as an available data source and prioritize the data sources. See Prioritizing Data Source for Variable Mapping for more details.
2.Click the start menu and select Variable Mapping.
3.In the Variable Mapping page, click Select Parser to select a reference parser Cisco_IOS_CPU_MEM, and then click OK. The selected device type is displayed in the leftmost column, with the parser and related variables as a reference.
Tip: To filter your interested device types, click Device Types in Network to narrow down.
4.To pair for the variable $cpu_usage in the CLI parser, click the icon in the target entry of the Cisco IOS Switch column.
5.In the Add Mapping dialog, select the target variable $CPU in the SNMP parser SNMP_CPU_MEM, and click Save.
Result: The mapping between $cpu_usage (CLI parser) and $CPU (SNMP parser) is set up for Cisco IOS Switch as follows:
Note: Two variables in one parser or belonging to different variable types cannot be mapped. Variables parsed by the same parser will be mapped at one time for all applicable device types.
Tip: To switch reference parser, you can select the parser in the table, and click Set as Reference Parser in the Variable Mapping Details pane.
Tip: To delete the mapping, select the mapped variable in the table, and then click Delete Mapping in the Variable Mapping Details pane.
