Network Intent supports Macro Variables, which are variables with a pre-defined default value. They can be used in Network Intent diagnosis and CSV report, or in Network Intent Cluster to help generate Member NI. They are treated as constants during Network Intent execution.

1.In Network Intent edit mode, click the icon and select Define Macro Variable.

2.In Define Macro Variables window, click Add and select Add Device Variable or Add CLI Variable.

▪CLI Variables are Macro Variables used in CLI commands. For example, show ip ospf $process_id.

▪Device Variables are Macro Variables used in Network Intent Diagnosis Conditions, Diagnosis Notes or CSV reports.  For example, Device Variables can be defined as BGP AS number.

3.Macro Variables can be used in Diagnosis Conditions, Diagnosis Notes, Status Code definition and CSV report.
