The architect engineer can discover a live or baseline path when the network is healthy and focuses on solving the problem of the path 1st hop and last hop, which allows you to find the most appropriate source and destination and select Not-Directly-Connected device as gateway.
You may often have difficulty selecting the first hop while defining the path due to the duplicate IP, HSRP, HA group, etc. The most common usage scenario is that different end systems use the same duplicate IP, making path calculations have accuracy problems but you do not know how to solve them.
The A/B IntelliSense dialog has been improved to address these issues:
▪The main information of each item to be selected is listed in the IntelliSense dialog so that users can distinguish between different devices to achieve the purpose of quickly selecting the required items.
▪List the devices with major technologies (such as Duplicate IP, HA, HSRP, etc.) according to the rules to facilitate users to distinguish.
The format and supported function of IntelliSense dialog for different types of devices are as follows:

During path calculation, you can select the interface of a not-directly-connected device as the gateway to improving the following circumstances:
▪The gateway calculated by path is not the one you want.
▪You do not manage the gateway device.
For the end system, you can select any device’s interface with configured IP as the gateway. However, only the current device’s interface with configured IP is supported to be the gateway for a network device.
