Use Path Intent Template to Create Intent via Auto Intent
Intent templates are separated into two types based on Replication Logic Definition: Replication for Devices (called normal NIT), Replication for Paths (called Path NIT). Path intent template differs from normal intent template in the following respects:
- It takes path parameters such as source/destination IP as value of the macro variables defined in intent template.
- Path NIT does not need to be pre-decoded.
- Path NIT can only replicate on live command data; while normal NIT can use both pre-decoded data and live command data to do replication.
- For path NIT, only device qualification is defined at command level (mandatory); while users can define device qualification on both intent level (mandatory) and command level (optional) for normal intent template.
When a map has paths passing through devices on it, users will be able to use Path NIT to replicate intent for path, the logic is different from that of normal NIT.

A path can have multiple path devices matched with the path intent template. You can switch devices from the drop-down list (in alphabetical order) to input macro variables relevant to each path device.
