The following table outlines the available context maps of each NSX-V node.
Node | Context Maps |
NSX Controller | Two context maps are supported for this node:
- Layer 2 Neighbors displays the Layer 2 topology between the controller and its connected vSwitches.
- Layer 3 Neighbors displays the Layer 3 topology between the controller and its gateway device.
|
NSX Manager | Three context maps are supported for this node:
- Layer 2 Neighbors displays the Layer 2 topology between the manager and its connected vSwitches.
- Layer 3 Neighbors displays the Layer 3 topology between the manager and its gateway device.
- Logical Topology displays the logical topology between the manager and its managed NSX components (including Logical Switch, Distributed and NSX Edge).
|
NSX Edge | Two context maps are supported for the NSX Edge (HA) appliance:
- Layer 2 Neighbors displays the Layer 2 neighbors associated with the selected Edge (HA) appliance.
- Layer 3 Neighbors displays the Layer 3 neighbors associated with the selected Edge (HA) appliance.
|
Distributed Logical Router (DLR) | Two context maps are supported for the DLR (HA) appliance:
- Layer 2 Neighbors displays the Layer 2 neighbors associated with the selected DLR (HA) appliance.
- Layer 3 Neighbors displays the Layer 3 neighbors associated with the selected DLR (HA) appliance.
|
Logical Switch | Two context maps are supported for the Logical Switch node:
- Layer 2 Neighbors displays the Layer 2 neighbors associated with the selected logical switch.
- Logical Switch to Host displays the topology of a logical switch, its connected VDS (virtual distributed switches), and the hosts under each VDS.
Two context maps are supported for the VM node:
- VM to Layer 2 Neighbors displays the Layer 2 topology from a VM to DLR/NSX Edge or from a VM to its connected vSwitch and physical switches.
- VM to Layer 3 Neighbors displays the Layer 3 topology between a VM and its gateway devices.
