User Account Lockout Policy for Two-Factor Authentication

With a view to ensure user account security, NetBrain sets forth a set of policy for locking out user accounts if too many failed login attempts occur. After several code verification failures in a row within a configured time period, the user account will be locked out for certain time to ensure user account security. This is configured in the System Management page > User Accounts > Users tab (icon). This lockout policy applies to both username/password authentication failures and verification code failures. The settings in the example shown in the screenshot below mean that if code verification fails 6 times within 1 hour, this user account will be locked out for one hour.

  • During two-factor authentication setup, if the verification code failures exceed configured times, user account will be locked out.
  • After two-factor authentication is set up and users try to login. if the verification code failures exceed configured times, user account will be locked out.
